How do I get to the lodge

Booking your package to one of the fishing locations in BC is just the start as many of you know travelling in this day and age requires a little more planning than usual. There may be a lot of times that you think of why you started this in the first place but like any another time you know it will be well worth it. that is why you want to Pick The Right Lodge. Some of you maybe working on your bucket list as the saying goes no time like the present others maybe getting their friends together for that annual trip and looking for some place new. We have a nice cabin for small groups of 2-4 great for couples. The main lodge down-stairs can handle 8 and upstairs 16 these are inter dependant but can be combined for groups up to 28. In some cases we can augment accommodations and raise that rate even further Here is a list of the questions we have had over the years and are more specific to our location but will work in most cases for other areas along the coast.

How do I get there,

  • In our case you can drive to the lodge or fly to within 35 min of the Lodge. Driving is about 4.5 hours from Vancouver Canada 2 hours of that is on a BC Ferries from Tsawwassen this is good for guests living at the south end of Vancouver or driving up from the USA 6.5 hour from Seattle. Horseshoe Bay terminal is at the North end of Vancouver for both you want to go to Nanaimo here is our location on Google Map.

  • In the case of flying there are several airlines to choose from Air Canada flys from Vancouver to Comox, West jet from Calgary to Comox, Pacific Airlines to Comox and Campbell River as well as Central Mt Air from Vancouver to Comox and Campbell River. Flights and carries may change book ahead.

  • In Vancouver you will have to clear customs and transfer to another plane with one of the carriers listed above. There is only a short distance around 5-10 minutes by shuttle from the main terminal to the south terminal where most of the airlines above depart from Air Canada is the exception their plane should still fly out of the main terminal. You will have to collect your baggage at the main terminal and take that with you as well to the next flight.

  • Make sure you have your ID as far as we know Passport is required to get into Canada at all crossings whether driving or flying.

  • If you can use a carry on and check your fish in as luggage this may save you some expense.

  • Several of the well known carriers from the US and International fly into Vancouver.

  • From LA 2.5 hours Seattle about an 1 hour.

  • Flights from Calgary about 1 hour 15 minutes.

  • Driving from Seattle about 6.5 hours (includes 2 hours on the ferry).

  • Driving from Vancouver 4.5 hours (includes 2 hours on the ferry).

  • Best to reserve a spot on BC Ferries.

  • From the lodge Campbell River Airport is about 15 minutes and Comox 35 you need to be at the airport at least an hour before flight and allow for traffic in our case we have a shuttle that will take you to your flight.

  • Flying from all points East in Canada Westjet and Air Canada are the main carriers.

  • If driving you may want to consider using dry ice instead of ice check with the lodge otherwise you will need Gel Packs for flying no ice or dry ice allowed.

Keep in touch with the lodge while on your way in and if any changes to your itinerary along the way lets us know as soon as possible.
